MIDLAND -- A Midland woman is accused of driving drunk with four young children in her vehicle.

Vanessa Marie Chavana was arrested on February 20th.

Midland Police say that Chavana, 24, drove drunk while 4 young children were in her vehicle around 12:20 AM on February 20th.

Chavana's friend was also reportedly in the vehicle at the time, and she allegedly got into an argument with Chavana.

Chavana reportedly pulled over in the 4300 block of Bedford Avenue, and officers say that the two women nearly came to blows outside the vehicle.

Police responded to a disturbance call in connection with the fight, and officers reportedly noticed that Chavana looked drunk,

Chavana was arrested after she subsequently failed field sobriety tests.

Now, Chavana is charged with 2 counts of D.W.I. with children under the age of 15 in the vehicle, 2 counts of driving with an invalid license and outstanding warrants.

As of Friday evening, Chavana was being held in the Midland County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
