Jurors Deliberate In Dawson County Molestation Trial

LAMESA -- A trial against a Lamesa man accused of molesting 3 girls has been handed to a jury.
According to The Lamesa Press-Reporter, jurors began deliberations in the trial against John Martinez on Wednesday afternoon.
In a 10-count indictment, Martinez has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a young child or children, aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child.
Martinez, 67, is accused of sexually assaulting a girl (who was under the age of 14) multiple times between 2009 and July 2012.
Martinez also allegedly sexually assaulted another girl (who was under the age of 14) in 2012, and he's accused of having sexual content with yet another girl (who was under the age of 17) in July 2012.
A jury of 10 men and 2 women began hearing testimony on February 25th, with testimony wrapping up Wednesday morning.
