MARFA -- A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper in the Big Bend region has resigned, after he was accused of causing a hit-and-run crash.

D.P.S. troopers say that trooper Patrick White allegedly crashed into an unoccupied vehicle in Marfa while he was off-duty early on February 24th.

White reportedly left the scene of the crash.

D.P.S. officials suspended White on February 25th.

White then resigned on February 26th.

Before his resignation, White had been stationed in Marfa as a probationary Highway Patrol trooper.

The Presidio County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.
