Justin Joe Payan was arrested on Wednesday.
Payan, 17 allegedly told Odessa Police that he was the victim of an armed robbery outside Permian High School on February 7th.
Payan reportedly said that 4 or 5 men wearing ski masks and dark clothing got out of a black car along East 42nd Street and started to yell at him.
Payan also said that one of the men pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
Payan told police reportedly backed away and ran back to Permian High School, where he waited until the suspects left the scene
However, officers later found out that the entire story was a hoax.
Now, Payan is charged with misdemeanor making a false report to a police officer.
As of Wednesday evening, Payan was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on $500 bond.
