Carlsbad (NM) Man Dies In Eddy County Industrial Accident

CARLSBAD, NM -- A Carlsbad, NM man dies in an industrial accident in southern Eddy County.

    The fatal accident happened at an oilfield waste water disposal site at mile marker 9 of U.S. 285 in southern Eddy County around 8:30 PM on February 28th.

    Eddy County Sheriff Scott London says that deputies found Lester Howell of Carlsbad suffering from seer head injuries when they arrived on the scene.

    Howell, 48, was later pronounced dead.

    The Eddy County Sheriff's Office Special Investigation Unit was called to the scene to investigate the incident.
   
    Howell's body was sent to the New Mexico Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque for an autopsy.

    The investigation into Howell's death continued on Friday.
