MIDLAND -- A Midland County woman is accused of leading a Midland County Sheriff's deputy on a high speed chase while she was drunk.

Brittany Michelle Hoover was arrested on February 27th.

Midland County Sheriff's deputies say that Hoover, 25, was passing vehicles on the shoulder of South County Road 1200 as she drove south in a blue Chevrolet Blazer around 6 PM on February 27th.

Deputies tried to pull over the Blazer, but they say Hoover continued south along the road until she reached a dirt road north of West County Road 120.

Hoover reportedly turned onto the dirt road an sped down the road as speeds above 60 miles an hour.

The chase reportedly ended when Hoover took a sharp right at the end of the road and crashed into a pipe fence.

Deputies quickly detained Hoover and questioned her, but they came to suspect that she had been drinking.

Hoover was arrested for the vehicle chase, but deputies say she subsequently failed a sobriety test at the Midland County Detention Center.

Now, Hoover is charged with evading arrest in a motor vehicle and D.W.I.

As of Monday evening, Hoover was no longer being held in the Midland County Detention Center.
