MIDLAND -- FC Dallas WTX Super 20s prides itself in preparing athletes to take their soccer skills to the next level. On Wednesday, the club saw two of its finest players ink their college futures.

Odessa product Alexa Branum is headed to Hardin-Simmons University to play for the Cowboys soccer program. Reese Barden will leave Midland to take his talents to Canyon and play for West Texas A&M.

Both have been playing soccer for most of their lives, so it makes sense they'll be playing their favorite game where they feel the most comfortable.

"They are a very huge powerhouse and their  offensive line definitely fits my playing type," Branum said. "They use the target forward and that's what I'm used to playing in high school."

"After evaluating all my options, I just wanted to stay close to home," Barden said. "I live with my grandmother and my dad, and my grandmother worried I was going to leave West Texas."
