HOBBS, NM -- A man is accused of beating a woman to death at a Lea County, NM home and recording the attack on a cell phone.

Timmithy E. Stover was arrested on March 5th.

Lea County Sheriff's deputies say that Stover got into a fight with Candiace Boone at a home in the 1200 block of West Scharbauer Street in Hobbs, NM on the evening of March 4th.

The altercation reportedly came about after Stover injected Boone with meth.

Stover reportedly forced Boone, 28, out of her vehicle and into his vehicle before driving to an acquaintance's home in the 400 block of West Kansas Street in Lea County.

Stover, 27, reportedly pulled out a small black pistol and forced the two residents of the home to help him restrain Boone's wrists and ankles with duct tape.

Stover then allegedly stuck a sock in Boone's mouth, secured it with a bandana and tied it around her head.

Deputies say that Stover beat Boone repeatedly and he forced one of the residents of the home to record the beating on a cell phone.

Stover then reportedly dragged Boone into a back bedroom and continued the beating.

Deputies say that Stover left Boone alone in the room after the attack, but one of the occupants found her unresponsive and called 911.

Deputies on the scene determined that Boone had died from the beating.

Boone's body has been sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner in Albuquerque for an autopsy.

Deputies also say that a child was at the home where the beating took place, and the child reportedly witnessed much of the attack.

Now, Stover is charged with murder, battery on a household member, false imprisonment, trafficking a controlled substance, intimidation of a witness and child abuse.

As of Wednesday evening, Stover was being held in the Lea County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
