Midland, Odessa See Significant Sales Tax Revenue Increases For March

MIDLAND -- Both Midland and Odessa continue to see significant gains in sales tax revenue.

    Odessa received $2,896,042.09 in sales tax revenue from the Texas Comptroller's Office in March.

    The sales tax figure includes the Economic Development sales tax of 1/4 cent.

    The Odessa Development Corporation will receive $579,208.42 of Odessa's March sales tax revenues, while the City of Odessa will receive $2,316,833.67.

    The $2,316,833.67 the City of Odessa will receive marks an 18.76 percent ($365,939.03) increase over March 2012's figures.

    The City of Odessa has budgeted $25,240,023 in sales tax revenues in the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year-to-date.

    The City of Odessa's Fiscal Year-to-date figures represent a 18.14 percent ($2,411,285.10) increase over the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year totals at this time.

    Meanwhile, the City of Midland received $3,035,143 in sales tax revenue from the Texas Comptroller's Office in march.

    The City of Midland's sales tax figures represent at 16.94 percent ($439,652) increase over March 2012's figures.

    The City of Midland has budgeted $19,204,097 in sales tax revenues in the 2012-2013 Fiscal Year-to-date.

    The City of Midland's Fiscal Year-to-date figures represent a 15.36 percent ($2,557,429) increase over the 2011-2012 Fiscal Year at this time.

    Sales tax revenue for March comes from January 2013 sales.
