ODESSA -- Odessa Fire and Rescue has completed an investigation into a blaze that torched a home.

Odessa Fire Marshal Detra White tells Big 2 that Thomas Nail, 73, and Linda Nail, 70, made a fire in the fireplace of a home in the 4500 block of West Mulberry Street around 8 PM on March 11th.

However, the blaze quickly got out of hand and ignited the entire home.

Tom and Linda Nail got out of the home safely with their two dogs.

However, the home burned to the ground, taking two parakeets and Linda Nail's wheelchair with it.

White tells Big 2 that all signs point to the fire being caused accidentally, so there will be no further investigation into the blaze.

Co-workers of Tom Nail have lent the couple a travel trailer, but the Nails don't have a permanent place to live at this time.

Anyone interested in helping out the Nails can donate to their account at Chase bank.

The Nails' account is in the name of Thomas and Linda Nail.
