Odessa Man Accused Of Attacking Mother With Fists, Knife

ODESSA -- An Odessa man is accused of trying to attack his own mother.

    Pedro Olivas was arrested around 5 PM on March 17th.

    Odessa Police say that Olivas, 21, punched his mother in the face near the intersection of Harris Street and Beaty Avenue around 5 PM of March 17th.

    Olivas also reportedly charged at his mother with a kitchen knife.

    The victim reportedly ran away to a neighbors house.

    Police arrived on the scene moments later, and officers reportedly arrested Olivas as he tried to force his way into his own home.

    Now, Olivas is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

    As of Tuesday evening, Olivas was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on $50,000  bond.
