ODESSA -- An Odessa man has been indicted for a 2008 murder.

Jesus Miguel Venegas was indicted on murder charges on March 18th.

Venegas, 26, reportedly confessed to Odessa Police on January 5th that he killed Rene Escobar Sanchez in July, 2008.

Venegas also reportedly indicated that Sanchez's body was in the area of Moss Avenue and Interstate 20.

Police searched the area for several days, but they couldn't recover Sanchez's body.

Sanchez, 36, was last seen in July 2008, and his wife later reported him missing.

However, the case went cold before Venegas admitted to the murder.

As of Tuesday evening, Venegas was being held in the Ector County Law Enforcement Center on $500,000 bond.
