400 people were arrested nationwide, more than 30 of them busted in Andrews. This massive arrest effort is part of what's called operation deliverance.

90% of all crimes are linked to drug trafficking. So, if you stop the drug dealers, you can put an end to most crime and with more than 30 fresh new suspected drug dealers behind bars. The Andrews Police Chief is sending the message to all drug dealers; you're next.

It's the biggest drug bust Chief Bud Jones has ever been a part of.

"We targeted some pretty heavy hitters, individuals who are known to distribute illegal drugs," says Jones.

With the help of several different law enforcement agencies from across West Texas, including the Sheriff's Department, the FBI and the Midland DEA. The bad guys were sniffed out.

"All individuals were indicted for distribution of a controlled substance to wit.  Almost, every single one of them is for distribution of cocaine," explains Jones.

31 people were arrested, which a lot is considering Andrew's last round up was half the size and the drug problem isn't slowing down.

"My responsibility is to the community is to keep it safe," says Jones.

Who also says he'll go to great lengths to do so.

"We're not afraid to go after them. We're not going to quit going after them.  We're not through.  We stopped this round.  But, we'll be back pretty quick," says Jones.

This morning they were after 40 people and 31 were caught. However, by the end some of the remaining suspects were turning themselves in.
