Homicide Arrests

Three arrests have been made in connection to last week's homicide in Midland.
Police have arrested George Mitchell, Jr., 50, Birdie Cooks Mitchell, 48, and Jarvis Mitchell, 23. The suspects are the father, mother and brother of the victim.

28-year-old Weldon Maurice Cooks was shot in the stomach last week. He was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The arrests were made around two Wednesday afternoon. All have been charged with murder and tampering with physical evidence. No bond has been set.
