In the past, the Humane Society of Odessa dealt with a huge problem of people dropping off animals and just leaving them there. To fix the problem, they got surveillance cameras which proved to be working and keeping people from doing this. However, on Saturday someone decided to break the law again and it was all caught on camera.

In watching the surveillance footage, the person who drops off the dogs makes a lap around the humane society; scooping out where to dump the dogs. Unfortunately for the suspect, there are cameras all over the building and they caught this suspects ever move.A witness who watched the crime, ran inside to alert the humane society.

"We came back and looked on the video and saw her dumping them off, we've gone to look for the dogs on several occasions, around the area and can't find them anywhere," says Connie Aguirre with the Board of the Hume Society of Odessa.

Connie along with the Ector County Sheriff's Deputy who watched the video, believe it was a woman who dropped off the dogs and she was driving a Dodge Charger. First and foremost Connie wants to find these dogs and know they are safe.

"And the second thing, is to find this woman and prosecute her," says Connie.

It's a misdemeanor charge to dump off any animal at the humane society. That can be more than a $1,000 fine or even jail time. A crime that Connie says can be avoided.

"Put them on Craig's List, put them on Thrifty Nickel, give them to someone, give them a home, don't just dump them, where they have to fight for survival," says Connie.

Again, the Humane Society has filed this with the Sheriff's Department to be investigated and they want this person caught and prosecuted.
