Fireworks light up the sky and are a sight to see! This weekend, fireworks weren't the only thing lighting up the night for sight.
Every year, prevent blindness does a walk to spread awareness about eye disease. On Saturday, a group of walkers strolled around Citibank Ball Park during the Rockhounds game to send baseball fans and firework watchers a message.
"50 percent of all eye diseases is preventable with early eye detection, education and prevention," explains Linda Hook, Program Director for Prevent Blindness.
Money raised by Prevent Blindness goes directly to help people in the Permian Basin get eye examines and glasses. For information about Prevent Blindness call their office at 432.620.8228.
