Congressman Neugebauer Holds Town Hall Meeting

Congress is faced with a lot of tough decisions these days. They can be tougher, if Congressmen and women don't get in touch with the people they represent. Today, Congressman Randy Neugebauer was in Big Spring, getting a feel for what people are concerned about.
As part of this, America speaking out campaign. The Republican's in Congress are making a push to hold as many Town Hall meetings as possible before November. Congressman Neugebauer held his first meeting in Big Spring and like the congressman told Big 2 the great thing about Texans, is we're frank and don't have a problem speaking our minds.
Just in the last 9 months. Our federal deficit has grown by a trillion dollars. Something Congressman Neugebauer believes will get larger, unless voter's take control.
"We're moving more and more in a direction where the government is invading almost ever area of their lives," explains Neugebauer.
Congressman believes people don't have the same freedoms and opportunities we once had and he wants to restore those values, starting with just listening.
"People are tired of the talk they're ready for their elected officials to get to work," says Neubebauer.
"I know more people who are getting involved who have never been involved with politics before," says Bo Fryar, who attended the Town Hall Meeting.
That's why the Congressman is holding these town hall meetings, to hear what his district wants him to take back to Washington. Border Security being one of the hot topics at the meeting.
"We already have immigration laws and border laws in place, what we need to do is enforce them. We don't need to talk about them, we need to enforce them," says Neubebauer.
Come November, Neugebeuar hopes people get to the polls and vote for the values he wants back in Washington.
"Limited government, strong national defense is important and the government has a spending problem, not an income problem and I think this election in November is going to be about," explains Neugebeuar.
The Congress plans to hold 8 more town hall meetings before the November election. Of course, this is also a chance for him to campaign, trying to gather votes. He's running against Democrat Andy Wilson for the seat this fall.
