"They have all of the great bands in one area, it's a lot of fun to just hangout with everyone and get to hear new stuff," said Vigil.
This year marks Vigil's 7th year attending Rock the Desert. She said what keeps her coming back is her connection with God.
"God is the most important thing in my life. So, it's totally awesome to come to a place where so many people are worshipping him," she said.
Chris Esparza feels the same way. For him Rock the Desert is more than a concert. It has become a tradition in his life.
"Everywhere you look God is just working everywhere whether you see it or feel it or not he is there," said Esparza.
About 20 Christian bands will be rocking the stage during the three- day event.
"I'm excited for Casting Crowns," said event-goer Shelbee Phipps.
"The Devil Wears Prada," said Vigil.
Rock the Desert will continue on Friday and Saturday.Tickets can be purchased at Mardel or at Chi-Fil-A for $20. They can also be bought at the gate for $25. Those attending the concert are being asked to bring shoes they can donate to charity. Rock the Desert and Buckner International are collecting shoes for Shoes for Orphan Souls.
