More than 100 state and local leaders gathered Friday afternoon at UTPB's CEED building in Odessa for an energy forum that explored whether energy independence is both possible and beneficial. The forum was produced by Basin PBS and hosted by Texas Lyceum.
Big 2 spoke with Texas Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones about the political controversy over petroleum and other fossil fuels.
"If you mean a major decline in the use of fossil fuels to fuel our economy...No, i don't see that in the near future or the midterm future, or even for decades to come," Jones told Big 2.
There will be more details on the debate on the Big 2 Energy report on Thursday, August 12th. The debate will be aired in its entirety on Basin PBS on September 23rd and 26th.
