Gov. Perry Opposes Restrictions On New Aid Package

The United States Senate recently approved a new financial aid package to be given to individual states. But now, Texas governor Rick Perry is criticizing the restrictions that come with that package.
Perry opposes a provision in the package that requires him to keep education spending levels at least the same through 2013. The Texas Constitution prevents Perry from committing to future spending.
If Perry signs off on the package, the Lone Star State could get $800 million to save more than 13,400 jobs in education statewide.
