Governor Rick Perry and former Houston mayor Bill White were at the Texas Association of Broadcasters Convention in Austin Thursday.
Both Texas gubernatorial candidates spoke to the crowd, but there was some friction, as White challenged Perry to a debate.
No debate has been planned, but Perry says White could fix that.
"It's totally up to [White]," said Perry. "All he's got to do is release his income tax from his years as Assistant Secretary of Energy and be transparent and open with the people of Texas about what he's been doing."
"It's not his option to impose conditions on a debate," White responded. "Fact is, his handlers don't want him to appear before editorial boards or in debates where they can answer questions."
