A longtime West Texas water official is facing allegations from the TCEQ.
Tom Beard is facing 23 alleged violations for a well servicing homes north of Alpine, according to the Big Bend Sentinel. The reported allegations say that Beard doesn't have the right permits, hasn't kept livestock far enough away from the well, and doesn't have the proper disinfectant system installed.
Beard responded to these allegations by saying that the water system isn't  public. He added that the allegations don't make sense.
Beard is contesting the allegations. He says that once the system is ruled private, he won't be in any sort of violation.
