The kids came from both Daystar campuses in Odessa, and made the decision earlier in the summer to hold a fundraiser. They wanted to raise money for Bynum School, which teaches children with special needs.
Daystar supported the idea, seeing it as a way to show the benefit of charity. The kids raised $1700 for Bynum. That money will now go towards scholarships which will help local families send their children to Bynum.
"It's hard to get people involved and our kids, they were so excited to do this," Casandra Reyes of Daystar told Big 2. "They worked so hard and I think it's important that they know to do good out there and help other kids."
