Parents were rushing to the health department Monday morning to get their kids vaccinated.
This year, the state changed the shot requirements and what diseases kids needed to be vaccinated for, and many parents waited until the last minute to get their kids vaccinated. The Ector County Health department told Big 2 that the line was out the door Monday morning and throughout the day, a steady flow of parents brought in their kids.
"Every year, it never fails," Department Director Gino Solla told Big 2. "Day one, we have the long lines.  I just want to mention to the parents should avoid the heat, it always happens in August."
If anyone still needs to get their kids vaccinated, the Ector County Health Department is open Monday - Thursday from 9 AM - 3 PM.
