Obesity rates in the Permian Basin continue to rise, but Odessa College is trying to do something about it.
For the third year in a row, the college is hosting their 30 for 30 challenge.
Anyone who registers at the college can use the Odessa College Sports Center for the month of September, as long as they pledge to work out for 30 minutes for 30 days.
"What we're trying to do is get everyone into the habit of working out, for 30 days," Courtney Wordlaw of Odessa College told Big 2. "So, on October 1st, you'll decide this is a great deal. I feel better. I'm in shape. "
The school is also giving out some prizes to people who sign up. Online sign ups are available at the school's website, www.odessa.edu.
