A couple of weeks ago we introduced you to Kathie Glass, a Houston lawyer who has decided to run for governor. Monday night she was back in our area speaking to members of the Odessa TEA Party.

"I'm addressing the Odessa TEA Party here at the Odessa Bible Church. We're glad to be back in Odessa. We had a good reception, good meeting with some Odessa people last time around a couple weeks ago, and now we expect even more so," Glass, who's running on the Libertarian ticket, said.

She plans to restore Texas sovereignty and secure our border by using our own Texas State Guard, but that's just the beginning of her platform.

"To slash budget: taxes and spending by 50%, which would only get us back where we were 10 years ago when our current governor took office," Glass said.

She also plans to eliminate property taxes and strengthen private property rights.

"And I tell people...if that's what you want, if that's what Texans want, then I'm not just another choice for governor...I'm their only choice," Glass said.

She's a firm believer that Rick Perry is not the man for the job, and hasn't been for some time.

"If you want the same things I want: strong Texas, secure border, lower budget, no property taxes...then don't waste your vote by voting for someone who's proven they will not give you those things," Glass said.

She realizes she's the underdog in this race, but said she enjoys the challenge. Next on the campaign trail she travels to San Angelo, Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio. For more information about her and her platform, check out her website at www.kathie4guv.com.
