TXDOT is going to put some traffic signals at some of the basin's busiest, and deadliest, intersections.
The agency's putting one light at TX 384 and South Loop 338 and another at Highway 191 and FM 1788 north of Midland International Airport. Work should start in September and will be done by Christmas.
There will be a number of lane closures and detours as the signals go up, so make sure to use caution if driving in that area.
There have been numerous fatal collisions at the intersection of FM 1788 and Highway 191. The new signal will hopefully reduce the number of these fatal crashes.
