Odessa Norteno Singer Sentenced to 19 Years

The lead singer of a Norteno band will spend the next 19 years in prison.
Jose Alfredo Porras-Muniz, who lived in Odessa, was sentenced in federal court for two different drug smuggling cases.
Porras-Muniz was the lead singer for Los Diamantes de Ojinaga. He was indicted in March for smuggling more than 3000 pounds of pot over the border. The drugs were seized in Presidio County.
In an additional 2009 case, Porras-Muniz was accused of smuggling more pot through the Presido Border Crossing.
