A BBQ lunch was held in Midland this weekend to try and bring in volunteers for a prison ministry.

Kairos 24 has been around since the sixties, and those involved with the group continue to spread Christianity to inmates. This October, they'll be going into a prison in Fort Stockton to spread the good word and let the prisoners know that they're not alone

"A lot of the guys have no one that comes to see them. They don't get any mail. The guys are really lonely and searching and just kind of separated from society for so many years, they need something to hold onto. And, Jesus Christ is the answer," says Kairos 24 Treasurer, Dave Pearcy.

The group is traveling to Fort Stockton on October 28th, and training will begin in September.

If you're interested in getting involved, make sure you attend the training session at First Presbyterian Church in Midland on September 11th at 9 in the morning.
