Midland To Extend Garfield South of Railroad Tracks

The City of Midland is starting to make progress on an extension to a major roadway.
The city plans to extend Garfield from Carter to Cotton Flat, close to where that road goes by the Midland County Horseshoe. These changes would keep traffic from having to use Industrial and other streets as they make their way towards Interstate 20.
The Midland Reporter Telegram reports that the city and state are splitting the funding, and the road is coming along. This road will also be useful for ambulances coming from the interstate heading towards Midland Memorial Hospital.
