New Seat Belt Law for School Buses

The new law requires all new buses to be outfitted with three point seatbelts. The law follows a bus accident in Beaumont that killed two teenage girls there. However, there is a concern that many districts won't be able to put the new law into practice, after the Texas Education Agency cut funding from $10 million to $3.6 million.
Many parents support the new law, but some worry that younger children might have trouble getting out of the belt if there was a problem.
