A Midland police officer has been terminated from the department after failing a drug and alcohol test. The termination follows a post-accident investigation.
Andrew Lowe was involved in an A.T.V. accident on September 5th on Fairgrounds Road in Midland. He and another officer were patrolling a park when the other officer slowed down his A.T.V, and Lowe crashed into the back of it.
Since Lowe was injured, he was required to take a urinalysis test. The results violated the Midland Police Department's drug and alcohol policy, and he was fired. Lowe has 48 hours to appeal the decision.
