Andrews has been receiving good economic news recently and today there was a big sign that the town is getting larger.
Greenmark Properties broke ground on a new apartment complex along NW 1st Place. Owner Kelly Green says it's a great location, close to local shopping and easy for people to get to jobs in Andrews County.
"We've got 152 planned units," Green told Big 2. "We're not sure on the time frame for all 152. The first is 40 units"
Additionally, with Waste Control Specialists getting ready to expand, and the Uranium Enrichment Facility in Eunice going on-line, more jobs are coming, and more people are expected to move into town.
"It's the second one now, and for Andrews that's really groundbreaking" Andrews mayor Robert Zap told Big 2. "But yeah, the town is growing."
The first wave of Greenmark apartments will also have a pool area, a clubhouse, and a patio. They hope to have them open and ready for occupancy by next February.
