The final countdown to the November elections has started, and politicians are making their rounds.
So far, the Basin's seen a lot of Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White. On Tuesday, his competition was in town.
Governor Rick Perry stopped by the Susie's South Forty candy factory this afternoon to shake hands, answer questions and address voters' concerns. And of course, he took some time to explain why it's crucial for conservatives to cast their ballots.
"Hopefully, we're going to elect a substantial number of fiscal conservatives in Washington, Congress and in the Governorships across the country, take 10th amendment, take it to Washington DC and demand that the Federal Government adhere to the 10th amendment," said Perry.
According to the latest Rasmussen poll, his lead over White has narrowed to an 8 point margin, and is now sitting at 49 to 41 percent.
