Learning how to read is one of the most critical parts of a child's education.
Luckily there are literacy educators out there who continue to work on finding new ideas and methods to help improve literacy education. Coming up on Saturday, September 25th, teachers and parents will have an opportunity to learn some new ideas and ways to help motivate kids to read. The one-day seminar is being hosted by the Texas State Reading Association at UTPB.
TSRA President Betty Forbes tells Big 2 that "literacy affects every facet of our life, and so this is an excellent opportunity to come and hear some good speakers and to attend some professional learning development."
Registation forms are available online at www.tsra.us. Once you're on the home page, you'll need to click on the 2010 Regional Institutes link, print the form, fill it out and then fax it in.
You can also email Betty Forbes at April6306@yahoo.com. The registration deadline is September 23rd. The conference begins at 8 AM Saturday.
