Permian Student Arrested For Controlled Substance Possession

A Permian High School student is behind bars after police say he brought drugs to school.
Sergio Cervantez, 17, was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone. E.C.I.S.D. Police say Cervantez brought cocaine to Permian High during school hours. He's in the Ector County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.
Cervantez faces 2 to 10 years behind bars and up to a $10,000 fine if convicted.
