Small business are the backbone of our economy, but they need people to do business with.
On Tuesday, there was a Small Business Forum at the Clarion Convention Center. It was a chance for small businesses to learn ways to get help and new techniques such as using social media to better advertise businesses and get bank financing.
But it was also a chance to net some big contracts. Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Rachel Stone says that "small businesses can do business with large corporations. With the city, the college, with the oil companies. And these are huge companies."
Another big topic was looking at how businesses can survive during a down economy, which has been a big topic during the recession.
