In August, two men were badly burned in an oil field explosion northeast of Midland. One of those men has now passed away.
The Odessa American reports that Abel Garcia, 38, died Thursday at a hospital in Lubbock. He had been there since the August 19th explosion, which burned most of his body.
Fernando Zamora was also burned in the explosion. He's still hospitalized in Lubbock in critical condition. Authorities believe the explosion happened after leaking natural gas ignited near an oil well.
