A long term investigation into a drug trafficking organization has led to 9 arrests.
These arrests all started with the purchase of 1 ounce of meth in Lea County. That led investigators to several other suspects who were smuggling drugs from Phoenix, AZ. On October 9th, federal, state, and local law served search warrants getting them 6 pounds of meth, $750,000 in cash, and 9 arrests in Hobbs and Lovington, NM.
Police say people were trafficking pounds of meth to Lea County for at least seven months, and this should substantially reduce the amount of meth on Lea County streets. More information on the arrests is to come.
