Turning in a traffic ticket here in Midland will get a little easier for police officers.
Although it's never fun to get a ticket, the Department of Public Safety is making the process a little less painful, speeding it up and going green.
You will still be getting a ticket but instead of paper it will be submitted to texas courts electronically.
It will help police officers do there job more efficiently, because instead of having to spend hours fillling out piles of paper work, they can now spend more time keeping the streets safe.
It also helps troopers avoid some of the more common mistakes on the road that can cause added frustration.
"It does cut down on the paperwork that we as troopers have to deal with. Once we re-sync our computers it automatically goes to the courts and they have it so we don't have to worry about making extra court runs or misplaced citations," said Trooper Barton.
The ticketless program is already up and running. DPS hopes this will not only help officers, but help the courts run faster and smoother.
