Food is a basic necessity for everyone, but unfortunately not everyone has it.
On Friday afternoon, HEB worked to help people who don't have basic food assistance. The store donated $10,000 worth of Hill Country Fare cereal to the West Texas Food Bank, and that cereal took up an entire trailer.
"We've been out of cereal for about a month and a half," West Texas Food Bank Warehouse Manager Peggy Gattis told Big 2. "And we needed the cereal for our agencies."
Gattis also added that the Food Bank still desperately needs volunteers.
