Baeza Indicted by Ector County Grand Jury

ODESSA -- An Ector County grand jury has indicted a man accused of trying to hit Ector County sheriff's deputies with his car.
    Texas Rangers say deputies were trying to pull over Jose Baeza as he was driving recklessly on Loop 338 on August 1st. That's when they say he crashed into a squad car, and tried to hit a deputy who was on foot.
    The deputies, Thomas O'Connor and Mike Whitfield, opened fire and shot Baeza. The grand jury says both deputies reacted appropriately, and that Baeza is charged with aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest.
