ODESSA -- Several political candidates have come to the Permian Basin as election day gets closer.
On Thursday, Texas' First Lady Anita Perry was in Odessa, campaigning for her husband at the Barn Door restaurant. Mrs. Perry touted her husband Governor Perry's record, saying that Texas is the strongest state in the nation, with the best business climate, and that changing horses midstream could put that record in peril. She also urged everyone to go and early vote.
"It's important to get the vote out, because we truly think that we have some great leadership in Texas, and I think we need to keep it," Texas First Lady Anita Perry told Big 2.
Mrs. Perry visited several cities today, trying to get in as much last minute campaigning as she can before next week's election.
Meanwhile, Bill White's wife Andrea campaigned in six cities and towns across the state.
