ODESSA -- A group of U.T.P.B. students were stressing the dangers of texting while driving Tuesday.
The Student Life organization had a simulator set up in the U.T.P.B. Mesa parking lot. The students sat in a real car and put on goggles that make them feel like they're really texting and driving. And before it was all over, they crashed.
The simulation was provided by P.E.E.R.S., which stands for Public Education and Empowerment Resource Services. "Most people are actually pretty surprised by the results," Alex Basel of P.E.E.R.S. told Big 2. "They don't realize how simple it is to be distracted, I guess, while you're driving."
