PLAINVIEW -- Jim Landtroop was a big winner at the polls Tuesday.
The Republican candidate for Texas State Representative won District 85 over Democrat Joe Heflin. And Landtroop is already talking about his first order of business in Austin.
"The first thing we've got to do, obviously, is balance the budget," Landtroop said. "We've got to have a balanced budget, and we've got to make sure we do that without raising taxes. That's very important. We've got to come together, work together as an entire legislature and find waste within state spending. Reduce the size of government, stop the spending, and make sure we balance the budget without raising taxes."
