ANDREWS -- An Andrews man will be spending the next 17 years behind bars after he was sentenced for conspiring to distribute cocaine.
Jose "Pepe" Aguilera was sentenced to 17 1/2 years in federal prison and 5 years of supervised release for conspiring, aiding and abetting to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine. Aguilera, 39, pleaded guilty to those charges in August.
Court documents say Aguilera and three others went to South Texas several times between 2007 and 2009, picked up cocaine there and sold it in Andrews. All four pleaded guilty to the charges over the summer.
