AUSTIN -- Texting while driving is one of the most dangerous activities drivers can do out on the roads. Now, it could become illegal in Texas.
On Wednesday, State Representative Tom Craddick introduced legislation in the Texas House that would make texting, sending e-mails and instant messaging while driving illegal.
Craddick said that while there are many local bans on the practice, a statewide law is necessary. 26 other states have a texting and driving ban.
The bill would still allow texting while a vehicle is stopped.
