MIDLAND -- A Midland County man has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two girls.
Russell Waymon Betterton, 45, pleaded guilty on Wednesday. He was arrested in July after one of the victims said that Betterton sexually molested her in 1999. That victim was only 12 years old at the time. That victim's sister said that she was abused in 2003 and 2004 when she was 12 years old.
Betterton was sentenced to 8 years probation and 500 hours of community service. As part of the plea deal, he will also have to register as a sex offender.
