MIDLAND -- On Wednesday on Big 2 News, we told you about a bill that State Representative Tom Craddick introduced in Austin. That bill would ban texting, sending e-mails and instant messaging while driving statewide.
Some local areas across the Lone Star State already ban the practice, but the largest cities in the Basin do not. Big 2 checked with officials in Midland and Odessa and found that texting while driving is only illegal in school zones, as is the case all across Texas.
Even though texting while driving is not illegal, it is very dangerous and can lead to distracted driving crashes.
