ODESSA -- State law now requires children 8 years and younger to be in a child safety seat - unless they're taller than 4'9".
Since these seats could mean the difference between life and death, the Odessa Fire Department and the Ector County Extension Office is offering free child seats. But to get one, you have to take part in a safety seat class.
If anyone would like to sign up, they can call the Odessa Fire Department at (432) 257-0521 or call Ector County at (432) 498-4071.
